The Vision
That the Christian prayer community encircle the City of Mesa in prayer, seeking spiritual protection, political wisdom, and economic prosperity in the year ahead.
The Project
To assign one church per perimeter mile, a community of faith who will agree to walk and pray their assigned mile on Sunday, January 6th 2013, 3:00PM MST.
The Prayer
That God will shower Mesa with blessings, that our Ancient Enemy would be put to flight, and that Jesus Christ will be magnified as Lord and Savior of all people.
The Witness
The 2012 Prayer Walk involved some 500 people walking and riding aournd the city perimeter. Some cars honked, a few people waved, and no doubt many wondered what was going on. Imagine the impact if in 2013 our numbers were doubled or even tripled, if thousands walked, prayed, sang, and offered the city and the coming year to God. And imagine the meaningful conversations that coulc then be had about the power of prayer offered in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
An Invitation from our friends!
Our friends at St. Mark's Episcopal Church (322 N Horne, Mesa) have invited any and all prayer walk churches to a barbecue following the walk on January 6th (around 4:30, but arrive when you can). They will supply the meat and suggest anyone attending bring a side dish to share. All they need is an RSVP of about how many of your prayer walkers might like to come by for good food and fellowship. Please reply to Kathy Cheatham (kathy_cheatham@hotmail.com).
